Fenix
Pilot’s watches have always held an important place in watch collectors’ collections. Prokop & Brož does not have a long history, so it cannot refer back to any of its earlier models. The Fenix model therefore figuratively rises from the ashes of the pilot’s watches lost in the Second World War, as the designer drew inspiration from the watches of that era. The Fenix is the essence of what matters most in making a pilot’s watch a pilot’s watch. A black dial with a dominant minute track, prominently luminous five-minute numerals and massive hands, together with a contrasting seconds hand, and a crystal with anti-reflective coating – all of this should ensure perfect legibility in any conditions. The large crown with coarse fluting allows the watch to be wound even while wearing gloves. The case combines all the functional and ergonomic benefits of the Hercule sports watch with the Toroid concept on which all of the brand’s classic models are built. This brings excellent ergonomics, high resistance to damage, and easy maintenance and repair of the watch. The case houses the PB 51 caliber – a movement with automatic winding, central seconds hand and date window. Given the preferred purity of style, the standard configuration features a case coated with BlackTop technology, but customers may also request a version in “bare” brushed metal – 316L steel. Dials can be supplied in a wider range of designs, but SuperLuminova C3 luminous paint, which has the highest luminosity of all available pigments, is always used. On request, the watch can be fitted with the PB 30 caliber (central seconds hand + manual winding) in its various decorated or semi-skeletonized versions. This version, however, has no date window, and the sapphire crystal in the caseback is 1mm thick. This is due to the taller construction of the caliber used and an entirely different caseback with a larger view of the movement. The overall dimensions, however, remain the same. The watch and all its components are designed for a structural resistance of 10ATM under both overpressure and underpressure, but as a precaution we guarantee only 5ATM. We are aware that the greatest stress on a watch comes from dynamic pressure combined with sudden changes in temperature. On request, the leather pouch can be replaced with a classic wooden box.
