LAURIN & KLEMENT 130 Years Limited Edition This limited series was created to mark the 130th anniversary of the founding of Laurin & Klement, the predecessor of today’s Škoda Auto, a.s. The story began in 1895 with a company that brought mechanical engineering production to Mladá Boleslav and expanded it dynamically in the years that followed. Today, Škoda Auto is the most important engineering company in the Czech Republic. The watches in this edition pay tribute to the craftsmanship of the many skilled people on whom every engineering company relies. As purely mechanical watches, they hark back to a time when automobiles, too, were fully mechanical. Few people know that the production of mechanical wristwatches is a prestigious indicator of a nation’s technical and technological maturity. The Czech Republic is one of ten countries in the world that have mastered this kind of precision engineering. It is therefore no coincidence that the partner in this project is the Czech manufacture Prokop & Brož, known for its custom-made wristwatches. 130 watches will be made. Numbers 1–30/130 will be available exclusively in precious metals. The standard stainless steel version is offered with numbers 31–130.
